Complaint guide · Stress, nervous tension
When your body
cannot switch off.
Long-term stress doesn't stay in your head: it settles into the shoulder, the jaw and the stomach, and it takes away your night's rest. Tension can also be released through the body.
Sound familiar?
If any of these are part of your everyday life, you are in the right place.
- You fall asleep with difficulty, or you wake at dawn with your mind racing.
- You sit all day with raised shoulders, and by evening your neck is hard as stone.
- You catch yourself clenching your teeth - sometimes even during the day.
- Your stomach cramps and your digestion is off.
- You wake up tired even after sleeping, and your energy runs out early in the day.
- Small things set you off, and you feel like a bundle of nerves.
What may be behind it?
Tension stays in the body.
Constant alertness
The body gets used to running at full speed and struggles to shift back into rest: the muscles stay contracted.
Tense muscles
Tension gathers in the trapezius, the neck and the jaw. By evening these are the first to harden.
Disrupted sleep
Tense, you fall asleep harder, and the lack of sleep tightens you further. It is hard to step out of that circle alone.
Lack of movement
With a sedentary lifestyle you cannot discharge the tension, so it stays locked in the muscles.
We decide what your treatment builds on after the assessment. That is why it is never a template with me.
If your low mood has lasted for weeks, if the sleep problem does not pass, or if you have anxiety attacks, please turn first to your GP, a psychologist or a psychiatrist. Treatment can complement specialist care, but it cannot replace it. And if you feel you cannot carry on alone, call the free emotional support line, available day and night: 116 123.

The method
I never release tension with a single technique.
For this complaint, Baronekgyógyír Integrated Therapy (BIT) is built on reflexology: I work on the reflex points of the foot, the hand and the ear, which for many releases the tension that has built up. Alongside it I use relaxing therapeutic massage so the hardened muscles let go, and at the end you get exercises and advice so you can carry the relaxing on at home.
